URBAN SCALE: STUDY SITE
The study site corresponds to the ancient area of "Borgo Antico", inside the Aragonese Walls. Despite some rehabilitation and functional interventions on prestigious buildings in this area have been done in the last years, however the area is at the moment, the most abandoned from the urban point of view. The study site is characterized by a concentration of negative data that contributes to lower the municipal average of schooling, precariousness, higher presence of inactive population and young criminality. The central urban area is characterized by an elevated daily mobility that, in particular moments of the day, creates an excessive use of the transport infrastructures due to the high demand of mobility.
Programmatic intentions: urban scale
Analyzing the connection between the actual road network and the possible vehicular-pedestrian junction in strategic points of access to Borgo Antico.
