URBAN SCALE: STUDY SITE
The study site, located at the limit of the town south to the Firenze-Lucca railway, is limited by the Via Fiorentina, by the ring road and by agricultural zones. The area has a strong functional mixity mainly residential and includes the garbage dump site –in progress to be dismantled - many open spaces, few services for the residents and some problems with the crossing road networks.
Programmatic intentions: urban scale
Starting from the proposed site, to create strategies and opportunities to build up a district able to overcome the present suburban character, by developing a new urbanity and by improving the connections with the historical town.
