Pistoia

TERRITORIAL SCALE: CONURBATION

Pistoia is a province in a wide and geographically diversified territory composed by several towns.

It is characterized by an important historical centre delimited by the Medici Walls and by some more recent expansions.

Despite the limits created by the surrounding rural lands cultivated as breeding grounds, the town includes some areas – among them the study site – not used by agriculture and needing a new urbanity design which preserves their relations with the adjacent rural cultures.
