PROXIMITY SCALE: SITE OF PROJECT
The site of project is mainly framed by lots of private houses, is uncultivated, and holds a nursery, the DANO plant and a facility for concrete mixing.
It borders on with the railroad, a district road and two fast roads, and it is close to a supermarket of 1600 m2 to be relocated or reorganised.
Due to its proximity to the Medici Walls, the Santa Barbara Fortress and some other areas involved into important local transformations, the site needs more and more to represent a new element of polarity for the town.
Programmatic intentions: site of project
Recovering the DANO area, creating new green public spaces, concentrating important urban activities, linking the public and the private spaces.
Rehabilitating DANO area, providing the district with open public spaces – mainly as green belt – setting up urban functions of value, functionally and morphologically reconnecting public and private spaces, planning a residential quote as a completion and one parking, even one-storey underground..
